Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has demanded a whooping Rs 80 crore as the royalty for his biopic ‘MS Dhoni – The Untold Story’. This is a figure never heard for any of the sports-based films in India.
Even Pann Singh (Paan Singh Tomar), Milkha Singh (Bhaag Milkha Bhaag) and Mary Kom (Mary Kom) offered royalty to the Filmmakers just by accepting a nominal amount. In fact, They didn’t demand for cash bags even though those films were successful at the Box Office. However, Dhoni has taken this to a whole new level with what he has done.
Reports say, Makers have already paid Rs 20 crore to Dhoni for obtaining the rights of his life story. In addition, He would get royalties and a share in film’s profits.
Neeraj Pandey who delivered promising thrillers like ‘A Wednesday’, ‘Special 26’ and ‘Baby’ is directing Dhoni’s biopic. Sushant Singh Rajput plays Dhoni in the movie.
