“DOO DOO-DHEE DHEE” Selected For International Children Film Festival

Doo Doo Dhee Dhee is a coming-of-age story in two ways: on the one hand, it portrays the journey of three impetuous teenagers towards a more responsible gadget use regime while on a visit from their modern, urban homes to their Grandpa’s village; on the other, it is also the story of transformation of Grandpa who, cocooned from today’s urban realities, tries unsuccessfully to banish technology from his life and theirs. The film raises important questions related to technology and alienation among modern-day children, and unreasonable traditional expectations and restrictions that elders seek to place on use of gadgets and technology. It aims to showcase the fine balance between culture, technology, and individual choice that is ultimately required for a healthy and holistic upbringing.
