Super star Salman Khan who had arrived in the Valley last week to shoot for Kabir Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The actor, who was sentenced to five years in jail by a sessions court in the 2002 hit-and-run case on May 6, later secured bail two days later when the Bombay High Court sus pended his sentence. And last Monday he reached Srinagar.
The actor looked visibly tired after a long shoot but began on a cheerful note, waxing eloquent on Kashmir. “We’re stupid to go to Switzerland. There is no other place on planet earth that is as beautiful as Kashmir,” said Sallu.
Surprisingly, his famour temper did not flare up when the questions soon turned to his legal troubles. “My problems are too small compared to what is happening in the world,” he said, adding, “I don’t know if I deserve so much love but I am accepting it….I sincerely owe a lot to everyone who has stood by me.”
He’s adopted a family in Kashmir and the youngest son is working on the sets of Bajrangi Bhaijaan. “I will do whatever it takes to make a person’s life better… For me politics is social work and I will continue doing that,” he asserted.
