Three consecutive successes has created a huge demand for Nani’s movies among overseas distributors.
With last year’s “Bhale Bhale Magadivoy”, Nani cracked the USA market. The film grossed nearly 1.40 million dollars at USA box-office and brought in three times profit on investment for the distributors.
Banking on Nani’s recent track record, new player Gaatri Media Group bought Gentleman’s US rights for nearly $800K. Despite being a thriller, Gentleman is doing a solid business in overseas so far. The film, which collected $72,418 through premieres, witnessed a cool 40% rise and ended up grossing $415,136 until Saturday.
With trade circles predicting another $150-$200K on Sunday, the film will not only cross the half a million milestone but it will also inch closer towards the breakeven point of $800K, falling short of just about $175-$200K for breakeven.
Looking at the positive trends so far, Gentleman is sure to collect the remaining $200K in the next couple of days and land its buyers in profits .
If he plans his career well and does movies that appeal to the audiences of USA Telugus, his market will further expand and may become one of the top stars in Tollywood for that market. Mahesh Babu grabbed the USA market in similar fashion.Nani is next to Mahesh in USA.
