‘Pochampally IKAT art Mela 2017’ a 9- days Hand woven Eco friendly Handloom Products exhibition Kick starts at Nagarjuna Nagar Community Hall, Yellareddy guda, Ameerpet. Tollywood Upcoming Actress, (Opilla Nee Valla movie fame) Shaalu Chourasia formally Inaugurated the mela and Socialite Padmaja Manepalli Light the traditional Lamp.
On the occasion Shaalu, said that “It’s nice to see various apparel, particularly Ikat Fabrics, silk and cotton saris, to be showcased for the Handloom Fashion Connoisseurs.
“Handlooms are part of an age old Indian tradition – element of Indian culture and rich artistry”says Padmaja Manepalli .
We support the artisans and local community who have been passing on their skills for generations. Promoting creativity and originality, each design is a result of individual artisan’s creativity which is influenced by the local traditions and cultures “said Mr Chikka Krishna founder chairman- Pochampally Handloom Park.
The Expo will be on till 2nd June 2017, 10:00 am to 8pm.
